Wood

Wood fence is an option most homeowners really enjoy because it offers an elegant, welcoming feeling as they come home, or as guests come to their home. Along with the nice image it portrays, it also offers the security you desire and need.

The most common types of wood are cedar and redwood. Depending on the climate where you live, at least one of these wood species will provide a great-looking fence that can withstand the elements for years.

Cedar naturally resists moisture, rot and insects, so it is a prime choice for wood fences. It is also easy to seal or stain, helping give it character and longevity.

Redwood is naturally insect and rot-resistant and provides a gorgeous, long-lasting fence. Because of the properties of redwood it has an open-celled structure and a resistance to decay allowing it to absorb and retain all types of finishes extremely well.

Cleaning and Maintenance on Wood Fence

Out of all the fence options we offer here at Oakley Fence, wood can require the most maintenance. Because it is wood, it is not indestructable. However, we recommend staining a new fence during the installation process, and keeping a regular re-stain maintenance schedule. If you keep up with the regular maintenance your fence is bound to stay new and in good condition. Often times with cedar products you may need to re-stain every 2-3 years. It is an easy process to do, and helps your beautful fence to last years to come.
