Our History

It all started in 1970 when a young man, Paul Brown Sr., helped his friend build a wood fence. That friend was Shelby Oakley, who was a college student at the time. Shelby had started a little fence company here in Stillwater to help pay his way through college. Little did Paul know on that day his life and path would be changed forever. It wasn't long after this that Shelby returned to Tulsa to run the family fence business. So a deal was made with Paul and Oakley Fence Company was sold to the Brown family.

Since that day in 1970, through today, Oakley Fence Company has been owned, and operated by the Brown family. Paul moved the business to Perkins Rd in 1975, and in 1982 moved it to it's current loacation on East HWY 51, also know as 6th street in Stillwater. In 1981, Paul jr. started working for the company, and in 1989 Paul and his wife Tina bought the company from his Dad.

During his time at Oakley they have done an average of over 250 projects a year. From residental to commerical, no job is to small or to big. Some of their best known projects are: OSU football practice field, OSU Tennis Courts, Keystone Pipeline Terminal, Stillwater Public Schools, Will Roger's, Skyline, Highland Park, Sangre, and Richmond Elementary Schools; as well as Stillwater Junior High, and High School. As for the residential jobs, you can't drive through town in any direction without seeing our red and white signs on fences.

Nowadays, Daniel runs the residential division and Paul runs the commercial division. Tina has been the office manager for over 25 years. It is our desire as a family owned and operated business to assist you with upmost service and personability. We hope that as a small business you feel treated like part of the family. As you consider your options of fence, gates, and other home security and containment solutions, give us a call and let us meet your needs!

STILLWATER STRONG

Someone once said, "No one can do everything, but everyone can do something". In 2018 it was our privilege, and honor to be able to work on the  Stillwater Strong Memorial project. Thank you to our vendors Merchant Metals, and Fortress Fence Products for donating the beautiful ornamental iron fence used at the memorial site. To all the families and people who were affected, we hope this memorial will go a long way in the healing and closure process.

God Bless

Paul Brown
